Microsoft AI Tour 2026: secure AI that is truly transforming busines
On Monday, March 10, 2026, AGIC took part in the Italian stop of the Microsoft AI Tour, held in Milan at CityOval (formerly Palazzo delle Scintille), the new venue inaugurated by Microsoft for the occasion.
The Microsoft AI Tour in Milan represented a key moment of discussion on the evolution of artificial intelligence in the enterprise context and its tangible impact on Italian businesses. At the heart of the day was a clear message: AI is no longer just a tool to support individual productivity, but is becoming a system capable of acting autonomously within business processes, transforming the way organizations operate and make decisions.
This shift marks AI’s entry into a new phase of maturity, where companies are required to move beyond experimentation and focus instead on scalability, governance, and measurable value.

AI in Italy: from the lab to production
The day opened with Vincenzo Esposito, CEO of Microsoft Italy, who outlined the state of AI adoption in Italy, starting from the experience of the AI L.A.B. program.
Launched around two and a half years ago, AI L.A.B. has involved more than 500 companies and led to the development of approximately 700 projects, thanks also to the contribution of over 38 certified technology partners. Over time, this ecosystem has expanded to include initiatives dedicated to the non‑profit sector, startups, and digital skills development, with the goal of making AI accessible and applicable across different contexts.
According to research cited by Esposito and presented at the Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio, artificial intelligence could generate an economic impact of up to 18% of Italy’s GDP over time. The most significant challenge for companies today, however, lies in bringing AI into core processes, turning pilot projects into integrated, secure, and well‑governed solutions.
Frontier transformation: Microsoft’s vision for AI‑driven growth
The strategic vision was further explored during the Executive Keynote delivered by Judson Althoff, Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Business at Microsoft, who introduced the concept of frontier transformation.
According to Althoff, the first phase of AI adoption focused primarily on operational efficiency and cost reduction. The new phase, by contrast, aims to redefine business models and enable growth, making artificial intelligence a structural lever for innovation.
This transformation is built on four pillars: improving the employee experience, strengthening customer relationships, rethinking business processes, and accelerating innovation. Microsoft is applying this approach internally as well, with the goal of supporting significant growth without a proportional increase in headcount.
Althoff also emphasized that true competitive advantage does not lie in the supremacy of a single AI model, but in the ability to build reliable, secure, and governable platforms capable of orchestrating multiple technologies within an enterprise‑ready framework.
Copilot, agents, and governance: AI enters business processes
During the keynote, several new technological developments were unveiled, starting with Copilot Wave 3, which introduces advanced agentic capabilities within Microsoft 365, and Copilot Co‑work, designed to manage complex, multi‑step activities in a coordinated way.
Strong emphasis was also placed on governance and control, with the launch of Agent 365, the platform designed to monitor AI agent behavior, measure impact, and ensure alignment with corporate security policies. This represents a key step in making AI adoption sustainable over time, particularly in complex and highly regulated environments.
Completing the picture was the presentation of the new Microsoft 365 Enterprise Frontier Suite, which brings together productivity, AI, and security in a single solution designed for the enterprise world.
From vision to reality: AI applied to business processes
Through a simulation based on a real‑world production scenario, Microsoft demonstrated how AI can operate across marketing, finance, and supply chain functions. In particular, the supply chain example showed how intelligent agents can analyze data, identify risks, propose alternatives, and trigger corrective actions in dramatically reduced timeframes.
It is at this point that frontier transformation takes on its most concrete meaning: not simply automating existing activities, but rethinking processes and the way decisions are made within organizations.
A hub for dialogue between companies and partners
Alongside the technological content, the Microsoft AI Tour once again proved to be a valuable forum for dialogue among companies, partners, and experts, thanks to dedicated networking areas and the Connection Hub. An ideal environment for sharing real use cases, adoption approaches, and common challenges related to scaling AI in enterprise contexts, fostering dialogue between strategy, technology, and business.

AGIC’s perspective
For AGIC, participation in the Microsoft AI Tour Milan 2026 confirms a direction that is already well established: supporting organizations in the transition from experimental AI adoption to its structured integration into business processes.

The vision proposed by Microsoft - based on agents, Copilot, governance, and enterprise‑ready platforms - is fully aligned with AGIC’s approach, which places value, security, and sustainability at the center. Bringing AI into production means working not only on technology, but also on people, processes, and operating models, building solutions that are measurable and scalable over time.
In a context where AI is becoming increasingly pervasive, the role of partners is to turn complexity into concrete growth opportunities, helping companies become true frontier organizations, starting today.
