Microsoft AI Tour 2025 - Post Event
Generative and Agentic AI as a growth engine for the country
Those who had the opportunity to participate in the Microsoft AI Tour 2025 witnessed an extraordinary event involving over 2,000 participants, including entrepreneurs, managers, IT professionals, and developers. The event, organized by Microsoft at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Milan on March 26, 2025, highlighted the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence, with a particular focus on Generative and Agentic AI.
During the plenary session, Asha Sharma, Corporate Vice President and Head of Product Microsoft AI Platform, delved into the transformative vision, stating: "Generative AI has the potential to revolutionize business models and triple return on investment. Agentic AI amplifies human capabilities and accelerates companies' innovation processes, contributing to the country's competitiveness". This evolution in the field of artificial intelligence, focused on creating autonomous agents capable of interacting with the environment and making decisions independently, allows us to witness a real-time technological revolution!
Vincenzo Esposito, CEO of Microsoft Italy, emphasized the strategic role of Generative and Agentic AI as catalysts for growth in our country. According to the latest data from the Politecnico di Milano, the Artificial Intelligence market in Italy has reached a record 1.2 billion euros with a 58% growth, driven mainly by Generative AI experiments. Microsoft has invested 4.3 billion euros to expand AI infrastructure and computing capacity in Italy.
The sessions and testimonials demonstrated how these technologies can revolutionize business models and triple return on investment. Microsoft's vision, presented by Asha Sharma and Vincenzo Esposito, highlighted the importance of investing in infrastructure, security, and knowledge to ensure that all companies, from large enterprises to SMEs, can benefit from these innovations.
In the era of Generative and Agentic AI, companies can choose to rely on ready-to-use tools or create customized solutions with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure AI Foundry: strategic tools for AI dissemination. Copilot enables automation and greater efficiency in business processes, while Azure AI Foundry simplifies the creation of agents and artificial intelligence apps.
Here are the most interesting highlights:
1. Availability of a complementary stack of simple and secure solutions
Microsoft has expanded the possibilities of Microsoft 365 Copilot thanks to:
- constant introduction of innovative features, including Microsoft 365 agents
- launch of new Sales Agent and Sales Chat agents dedicated to commercial teams
- integration with the 10 agents of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for sales, finance, and supply chain processes, and overall strategic interaction with the low-code development tool Copilot Studio, which allows organizations to develop vertical and customized copilots capable of automating and making targeted processes more efficient and effective.
2. Azure AI Foundry
Complementary to Copilot, it is the integrated platform that simplifies the creation of agents and artificial intelligence apps, allowing IT pros and developers to design and manage customized Gen AI solutions quickly and securely, leveraging Azure cloud.
3. Quantum Computing
The technology with the potential to accelerate computational calculations and analysis, training generative models, and optimizing AI processes. Microsoft showcased the new Majorana 1, the world's first quantum processor based on topological qubits. We are confident it will increasingly represent a turning point in quantum computing.
4. Contribution of Partners
Microsoft collaborates with over 15,000 partners in Italy to support the innovation journey of companies of all sizes and sectors. During the Microsoft AI Tour, 52 partners offered consultancy and training opportunities through exhibitions and speeches. It was an occasion to share interesting experiences of innovation and training that go hand in hand to foster real technological and cultural change.
5. Best practices and training
Microsoft AI Tour hosted a long marathon of interventions to review AI L.A.B (which includes AGIC) and to invite participation in the AI National Skilling Initiative, which aims to train 1 million Italians in skills related to Artificial Intelligence.
AGIC sees these opportunities as essential for the competitiveness of Italian companies and the country's technological progress.
In conclusion, the Milan stop of the Microsoft AI Tour 2025 demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence can revolutionize business models and triple return on investment. AGIC actively participated in the event, bringing its experience and expertise in the sector.
